Disconcerted Sounds Last.fm Group - here. A curiosity if nothing more...

New stuff

'Daughter of Darkness' hit the mailing lists today, well, Volcanic Tongue's at least. £26 from there, no doubt they are almost gone already (if not sold out). Tomentosa is expected to do an update in the next couple of days with new Blackest Rainbow which no doubt will include this set.
People are insane already bidding £60+ on ebay for a set - quite depressing to know that one has already appeared on ebay - as there are still a lot of sets to become available. However to get copies you will have to be quick to get back to the shops.

Plus if you don't have the speed (let's face it, they've all gone already) or money to buy these tapes people are kindly uploading them for more to hear.

Tape 1
Tape 2
Tape 3
Tape 4
Tape Ø
Tape V Part 1, Part 2

Big thanks to the Cabin Floor boss (1-Ø) and Mike (V) for uploading these.
------------
New Troglosound LP!

Jooklo Finnish Quartet - Birthday Session

Single sided and €15 - at current exchange rates unfortunately rather expensive - limited to 228 copies.
------------
New MV & EE bootleg tape out on Yod tapes called 'Sasquatch Creamie'. Last one was limited to 100 copies so I'd predict the same with this. Saw it available again at Volcanic Tongue.
------------
A few new alternative releases on Aryan Asshole. By alternative I mean some more of their homemade musical equipment, scrapbooks and t-shirts.
-------------
Next releases to look out for have got to be the Ajilvsga and Peeesseye series that will set you back $60 and $40 respectively.

"People are insane already bidding £60+ on ebay for a set"

i think that is crazy,
a lot of shops will have copies very soon

It will no doubt be quite hard to get a copy though, I think Volcanic Tongue sold out of them as soon as the mailing list went out and it doesn't sound as though Tomentosa or any other distro will have many. DNT Records may be a good bet.
More are bound to show up on ebay and the first is always the most expensive and overpriced.

Yeah Peeesseye sound pretty good. Would quite like both sets but neither will be around long enough to save up $100 in time.

thank you (and the person your getting them from) for posting the nsb cassettes! its really great having to look forward to a new one each day- there music is to be savored, for sure-

disconcerted said...

Takes very little effort on my part, fortunately. Glad you're enjoying them. They are fantastic tapes, it's amazing how consistently good across 6 cassettes they can be.

Anonymous said...

yea- its gonna take many pleasurable hours to really digest all of them- do you know if the artwork for each one differs? thanks again!

Anonymous said...

wow!
thanks for sharing

See discogs.com for the artwork. The first 5 cassettes are all included in one package and only have the black and white front/back cover. The 6th tape ('part V') has it's own.

Anonymous said...

is #5 available? i feel like an ass asking since its gonna take some time to digest the first 4- thanks again really appreciate this gift!

disconcerted said...

Yeah, just found the link. There should be one more tape to come. The 5th tape in the box isn't marked as '5' or '0' but instead one of those funny Scandinavian 'o's with a line through it. Part 5 is yet to be uploaded.

Anonymous said...

thank you! loading #o w/line right now- just got home from a funeral so this has made my night much better-
thanks-

disconcerted said...

No problem. Did you not find it a bit too gloomy for after a funeral?

Keep an eye out over the next few weeks as there will (so long as the postmen do their job) be some more NSB pleasures - and I'll also try and find/upload the 6th tape of this series.

thanks, i will be checkin for sure- also wanted to thank you for the heads up one the pre-order for the 6th cass as i was able to get one before they sold out- oh, i also got turned onto a link for a whole bunch of nsb back catalog- check it- http://www.mediafire.com/NSB
enjoy-

Mike is truly amazing for putting all that stuff together, but there's more to come (but I don't want to spoil it just yet in case it doesn't happen).

Well done for getting the last tape. There are obviously quite a few incomplete sets out there.

tape 6 is up to $50 on Ebay

disconcerted said...

Went for £47 ($70) in the end! Madness.

somebody somewhere will post it i hope. But $70 is out of the question.

hey guys! yeah the NSB folder on Mediafire is jumpin' these days! The Winter Ray has been downloaded like 200 times or something. i did rip my copy of "V" and i can upload it also. probably tomorrow or the next day?

disconcerted said...

That would be fantastic if you could, Mike. Also big thanks for those other NSB rips, 'The winter ray' is fast becoming my favourite from them.

mj said...

hey no prob. i lucked out totally on finding those--would have been criminal to keep them all to myself! Tracks on the Bloody Snow is nice, but overall not something i will probably end up listening to very much--more like a bedroom tape that's interesting, but not what i'd call an "official" entry into the group's catalogue. anyhow--i would have thought by now that NSB would have a deal with Kranky or Warp or something. very strange how they remain more of a super-limited, boutique-style group.

disconcerted said...

Yeah Kranky would be perfect for them. Maybe they don't want it? I picture them enjoying producing the more limited releases because the artwork is usually that much more special.

Some of 'Tracks on the bloody snow' appears on 'The winter ray' anyway and it all seems a lot more cohesive. That and 'Two sides of a horse' sound like demos (from the descriptions on discogs) more than recordings intended to be released. Just guessing though.

Anonymous said...

not to be a pain but is Two Sides of a Horse linked anywhere? And is that it for Duaghters of Darkness or is there an xtra cassette that hasn't appeared anywhere online yet for download?

disconcerted said...

No, I don't believe either have been put up on the internet yet, just the info for 'two sides...' on discogs.com. There is one last part of DoD to come.
If either surface I'll try and post the link. Wouldn't hold your breath for 'two sides...' to ever appear, but you never know.

here is the "V" tape. 256kbps LAME.

part II: http://www.mediafire.com/?zgiqwtinydd

disconcerted said...

Mike, you rule! Thanks a lot for uploading the tape.

Anonymous said...

is it just me, or does the third track on the V tape show as an error? i've tried downloading it twice and that track is not cooperating. someone please help me! i don't mean to be needy, but i would really appreciate a separate upload of psychic navigation. can't have the whole collection minus one song, that would drive me crazy. THANK YOU BOYS. you've made my nsb year.

disconcerted said...

Does it? That's a shame. Check out the Noise Not Music rip.

Anonymous said...

sadly, the Noise Not Music rip is the exact same rip from withoutatrace86's mediafire. if it's not too much of a burden could someone please pretty please upload the Psychic Navigation track separately to mediafire? my .rar converter just keeps seeing it as an error. sooooo frustrating.

disconcerted said...

I see. Will try and sort something out soon.

Anonymous said...

thanks for this, wonderful,. a friend of mine visited his local store due to stock it and was told off the record that they were ebay bound by the shop themselves - shocking!!

Anonymous said...

Is there a problem with the upload? Hmm. I just copied the other upload (this isn't my own one) from indie torrents.

tek said...

for some reason the http://www.mediafire.com/?dnzikjjzndh
file wont download from mediafire for me- has anyone else had this problem? i've been wrestling with it for a day now. Edgar Bearchild, i am also looking for a link to "norns" (the disk 3 of i dream of drone i think), and the wheel of sharp daggers and two sides of a horse cassettes -- thanks

mj said...

hey dudes sorry i have not really kept up with the NSB folder as of late. as for some of the older tapes (ie the Digitalis ones especially), i think there are quite a few different rips of those floating around the web, so just poke about on forums like Hipinion and Funky Souls and i'm sure you'll find what you're looking for. i will still update the NSB folder with new stuff as i get it (IF i get copies, that is :) ), but i don't know when i'll get around to ripping WOSD. in the meantime, just keep listening to The Winter Ray!

Anonymous said...

Can someone please put Winter Ray up again? The old mediafire link is dead. thanks

disconcerted said...

If it hasn't appeared over the weekend I'll try and get to it next week - have you tried the link on The Real Nitty Gritty blog?
