This is the first release on Senufo Editions - released alongside an extremely limited Alessandro Brivio record - and only has an edition of 180 copies. Lovely clear vinyl, simple but attractive artwork and a nice letterpressed insert.
"Knives has been influenced by cinematic sound design, hip hop music production, musique concrete and noir films, among other things. These days, I am interested in making music that is equal parts dramatic and abstract, songs with all of the regularity removed. I want to incorporate room tone, accidents, lack of control, mimicry, suggestion, tangentiality."

Record Store Day was on Saturday. If you went and bought a copy of the Blur single I recommend flogging it to the nutcases on ebay paying £200. Maybe next year the shops will press up 100 copies of records and put them on ebay themselves - I suspect at least a few of the listings have been record store employees, but that's the cynic in me.
Weird Forest: Love Cry Want - s/t (re-press)
The re-press of 'Wide' by Grouper sold out on pre-order so check the usual distros

Also check the Trogloblog linked above (just under the picture title) as there have been quite a lot of uploads going on. And check out their tour disc. I got a copy through (from Aquarius) last week and can confirm that it's mental.

Wow! what an upload. I was also very intrigued by that sample. Thanks a bunch!
I believe the VotSW LP on Holy Mountain isn't so much a re-release as it is a US pressing...it will make it more affordable for someone in the states, like me, to pick up, and make the original pressing that Rick did on his own label that much cooler to have.
great. thank you.
just visited their site and picked up this and senufo's other release. looks like a label worth keeping an eye on.

It is a fantastic record. I can imagine it being even better in 10 years time after 100 plays as well. A few extra crackles will do it little harm in my opinion.
Wasn't so taken with the samples from the other record but I hope it's also good.
I agree with you on the future potential of the label. Certainly a great start.
Yeah, got the Jooklo Duo last week. Virginia does some amazing stuff with her sax - some very unusual sounds - and the drumming is excellent. It was a bit much (for me) through headphones but speakers do them justice.
Joshua, you're right. I was just surprised they didn't import a large batch and sell them at a low imported price. Really good record - although you might have noticed in previous posts Rick's music goes down well with me - and I'd highly recommend it.
Oh, and I've updated the long list. Anything new is below the bolded 'tuesday additions' marker.
Hey, thanks for the link! If you want some idea of what the EP might sound like, check out my previous project, fognozzle:
